KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 24 ― Dr Farah’s wedding celebration last year comprised three receptions costing a whopping RM95,000 that forced her to take a RM15,000 loan even after getting financial help from her family.

The 30-year-old doctor, who asked to speak using a pseudonym, said that her father had sponsored RM15,000 for the reception at his home state in Kelantan, while her husband’s family spent RM15,000 for their wedding dinner in Putrajaya.

PM Turnbull : Australia should be republic after Queen Elizabeth

image

(Straits Time) SYDNEY (AFP) - Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has renewed his call for a republic, but only after Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, as he outlined a road map for breaking away from the British monarchy.

Turnbull - a staunch republican who led the cause before a failed referendum in 1999 - said his support for an Australian head of state stemmed from patriotism.

“The cause of the Australian Republican Movement (ARM) is a cause for Australia,” Turnbull said during a keynote address to the ARM on Saturday night (Dec 17).

“We do not diminish or disrespect the patriotism of those who take a different view, but we have no other motive, no other reason than love of country.”

The British crown’s power in Australia is seen as largely symbolic, and while the Queen is hugely popular Down Under, the monarchy is viewed by some as an anachronistic colonial relic.

Critics within Turnbull’s own conservative Liberal Party earlier in the week said his support for a republic would be damaging to the government.

But Turnbull said there was no appetite among Australians for another referendum during Queen Elizabeth’s reign.

“The less party political the republican movement is, the broader its base, the deeper its grassroots, the better positioned it will be when the issue becomes truly salient again,” the Australian leader added.

Opposition Labor leader Bill Shorten appeared to criticise Turnbull’s lack of action on Twitter following the speech.

“Climate change, marriage equality, housing affordability, now Republic too hard for Turnbull. Time for the PM to lead his party, not follow,” Shorten tweeted.

He also offered to “work together to deliver an Australian head of state”.

Support for a republic has wavered over the years, with a Fairfax-Nielsen poll in 2014 finding that 51 per cent of the 1,400 people surveyed favoured the status quo compared to 42 per cent supporting a republic.

Turnbull said question marks about how an Australian head of state would be elected - directly by the people or via a parliamentary appointment - had weakened support for a republic during the 1999 referendum.

He called for a two-stage voting process, with a plebiscite to determine the election model first before a referendum to decide on whether Australia should be a republic.

“We need to ensure that the Australian people feel they have chosen the model to be presented,” Turnbull said.

“Of course every member of the parliament is elected, but we cannot be blind to the levels of cynicism about politics, parliaments and governments. If anything they are greater today than they were back in 1999.”

Sultan Muhammad V, Kelantan lafaz sumpah jawatan Yang di-Pertuan Agong ke 15

image

(Utusan) KUALA LUMPUR 13 Dis.

Anwar Ibrahim kekal dipenjara lima tahun

image

(Utusan) PUTRAJAYA 14 Dis. - Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim kekal dipenjara lima tahun kerana meliwat Mohd.

Anwar disabitkan meliwat Mohd.

Tanpa pembabitan Pas, sekali lagi perhimpunan Bersih hambar.

Selepas perhimpunan semalam, Najib Tun Razak masih menjadi Perdana Menteri. Sedangkan ceramah, Khairuddin Abu Hassan aktivis kempen anti-Najib baru-baru ini berapi-rapi mahukan lima juta rakyat sertai Bersih 5.0 bagi menjatuhkan Najib melalui perhimpunan itu.

Untuk kesekian kalinya rakyat Malaysia memperlihatkan kematangan menolak Bersih. Tahniah, tahniah, tahniah.

Mesej Perkasa

Jadi siapa sebenarnya anda?

Kaya luar biasa

Cepat betul masa berlalu. Kalau ingat ingat balik, rasa
macam tak percaya yang aku dah kerja dekat sini selama 6 tahun. 6 tahun tu

Dalam tempoh 6 tahun dah banyak perkara aku tempuh. Buruk,
baik, suka dan duka dah dilalui.

Sejak kali pertama aku jejakkan kaki kat tempat kerja,
segalanya berubah. Terutamanya diri aku sendiri.

image

kinibiz.com

Finally, a decision that has been a long time coming was reached when the Cabinet in its weekly meeting yesterday gave the green light for the transport commission to legalize the controversial ride-sharing app.

Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) chief executive officer Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah had presented the commission’s proposal to revamp the conventional taxi industry and expand transport services by legalising the controversial Uber and Grab services yesterday.

The presentation focused on 11 main initiatives, The Sun Daily reports.

Among them are plans to improve the Teksi 1Malaysia (TEKS1M) model, streamline the budget cabs fleet and a suggestion for a special fund for new taxi vehicles.

SPAD is also looking into moving taxi permits to individuals, especially existing taxi drivers who have a good and clean track record.

There will be necessary amendments to existing laws and possible enactment of new ones for the relevant government agencies to formally legalize Uber and Grab, to be tabled in the next Parliament sitting this November.

Once that step is completed, a new ecosystem consisting of an estimated 150,000 new individual taxi, Uber and Grab drivers are expected to provide services to the public over the next three years once the new laws in place.

“This is the result of long hours of collating, sharing and finalising the best ideas from stakeholders, starting with the taxi lab organised last November,” a SPAD manager notes, The Sun Daily reports.

Salah jika bela ikan emas di Switzerland

(Sinar Harian) ZURICH - SWITZERLAND .

Turkey’s failed coup: What we know

ANKARA, July 20 — Some 9,300 people have been detained in Turkey and almost 9,000 officials sacked after a failed coup at the weekend which has stunned the country.

Here is what we know so far about the dramatic events of Friday night and how the government of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has responded.

Who’s targeted in wake of coup?

After a massive crackdown on the military, police and judiciary, Turkish authorities on Tuesday set their sights on the media and education sectors.

Licences for several radio and television stations were cancelled because the broadcasters are suspected of having links to an exiled Islamic cleric, Fethullah Gulen, who stands accused of orchestrating the coup.

The government also suspended more than 15,000 state education employees allegedly linked to the “Fethullah Terrorist Organisation” — its name for Gulen’s network.

Turkey’s education board also demanded the resignation of almost 1,600 deans from private and state universities.

Already, around 9,000 people including police and government officials have been sacked and at least 9,300 people detained including more than 100 generals and admirals accused of masterminding the plot.

Suspects are being charged with membership of an “armed terrorist organisation” and attempting to overthrow the government by force, the Hurriyet Daily News reported.

Will plotters be executed?

Turkey fully abolished the death penalty in 2004 and no executions have taken place in the country since 1984.

This week Erdogan suggested capital punishment could be reinstated if parliament approved such a move.

But this would rule out any chance Turkey has of joining the EU and could see it thrown out of the Council of Europe.

How did the coup attempt unfold?

Soldiers shut down two of the bridges spanning the Bosphorus in Istanbul at around 7.30pm (1630 GMT) on Friday and shortly after, military jets were heard flying low in the capital Ankara.

Some four hours later, a group within the military announced it had seized control of Turkey and that the country was now under martial law. Troops appeared on the streets of Istanbul and Ankara.

Erdogan, addressing the nation via a FaceTime call to the CNN Turk television channel, urged people to take to the streets and resist the coup, which they did in their thousands.

Soldiers in Istanbul opened fire on protesters and fighting erupted in Ankara, with planes bombing the parliament building.

Erdogan flew into Istanbul early Saturday where he was greeted by a sea of supporters, and shortly after the government announced it had regained control and that the coup had failed.

More than 290 people were killed, according to official figures, including over 100 putschists.

Have the clashes stopped?

Security forces and putschists briefly clashed at an air base in the central city of Konya on Sunday.

There was also an incident Sunday evening at Istanbul’s second airport Sabiha Gokcen, where police fired warning shots at putschists who were resisting arrest. They eventually surrendered.

Who was behind the coup bid?

It remains unclear who exactly was behind the attempted power grab. The coup was declared by a group within the army calling itself the Council for Peace in the Homeland, saying it was intervening “to ensure and restore constitutional order, democracy, human rights and freedoms.”

Erdogan has furiously pointed blame at his arch-foe Gulen, a US-based Islamic preacher whose Hizmet movement has a powerful presence in Turkish society, including the media, police and judiciary.

Gulen has categorically denied any involvement in the plot and has suggested it could have been staged by Erdogan himself to cement his grip on power, a theory that has been raised by other critics and some analysts, but dismissed as “nonsensical” by the president’s spokesman.

What are world powers saying?

World powers rallied behind Erdogan on the night of the coup attempt, with key strategic partners including the United States and European Union offering support for Turkey’s elected authorities.

But there has been international concern over the mass arrests with US President Barack Obama urging Ankara to “act within the rule of law” in the aftermath of the failed putsch. — AFP

Rampasan Kuasa di Turki

ISTANBUL: Turkey’s military said on Friday (Jul 15) it had seized power, but the prime minister said the attempted coup would be put down.

Soldiers were seen on the streets in Istanbul and Ankara as jets flew low overhead, while ordinary citizens rushed for the safety of their homes after witnessing the coup attempt.

If successful, the overthrow of President Tayyip Erdogan, who has ruled Turkey since 2003, would amount to one of the biggest shifts in power in the Middle East in years.

“We will overcome this,” Erdogan said, speaking by mobile phone to the Turkish sister station of CNN. “I certainly believe that coup plotters will not succeed. I urge the Turkish people to convene at public squares and airports. I never believed in a power higher than the power of the people.”

Erdogan said he was still president and Turkey’s commander in chief, promising that plotters would pay a “very heavy price.”

An official said Erdogan was speaking from Marmaris on the Turkish coast where he was on holiday. Erdogan said he would swiftly return to Ankara.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim and other senior officials said the elected government remained in office. Yildirim called the coup attempt a terrorist act by gangs and illegal formations.

Television images showed scores of people, someving Turkish flags, gathered in major squares in main city Istanbul and capital Ankara to show support for the elected government. Gunfire broke out in both cities.

Warplanes and helicopters roared over Ankara and explosions could be heard there. Reuters reporters saw a helicopter open fire. State-run news agency Anadolu said military helicopters had fired on the headquarters of the intelligence agency.

Reuters journalists saw tanks open fire near the parliament building in Ankara, which they had surrounded.

A Turkish F-16 fighter jet shot down a military helicopter being used by a military faction attempting the coup over the capital Ankara early on Saturday, broadcaster NTV said.

Anadolu meanwhile said 17 police officers had been killed in an attack on their offices in the city.

Airports were shut, access to Internet social media sites was cut off, and troops sealed off the two bridges over the Bosphorus in Istanbul, one of which was still lit up red, white and blue in solidarity with victims of the Bastille Day truck attack in France a day earlier.

Turkey’s top general Hulusi Akar was taken hostage at the military headquarters in the capital Ankara after the attempt to bring down the government, Anadolu reported.

State broadcaster TRT, which later went off the air, said the military had declared martial law and a curfew, in a statement signed by a group calling itself the “Council for Peace in the Homeland”.

“The power in the country has been seized in its entirety,” said a military statement quoted by Turkish media.

It said the move had been made “in order to ensure and restore constitutional order, democracy, human rights and freedoms and let the supremacy law in the country prevail, to restore order which was disrupted.”

“All our international agreements and commitments retain their validity. We hope our good relations will continue with all countries in the world.”

The country would be run by a “peace council” that would ensure the safety of the population, the statement said.

Yildirim denounced what he said was an “illegal attempt” by elements in the military, and said security forces have been called in to “do what is necessary”.

“We are working on the possibility of an attempt. We will not allow this attempt,” Yildirim said in comments broadcast by private channel NTV.

“Some people illegally undertook an illegal action outside of the chain of command. The government elected by the people remains in charge. This government will only go when the people say so.”

“Those who are in this illegal act will pay the highest price,” he added, saying it would not be correct to describe the move as a “coup”.

US President Barack Obama has been briefed, with US National Security Council spokesman Ned Price saying: “The president’s national security team has apprised him of the unfolding situation in Turkey.”

The EU called for “restraint and respect for democratic institutions” in Turkey. Neighbouring Greece said it was following the situation closely.

NOT A TINPOT COUP

Turkey, a NATO member with the second biggest military in the Western alliance, is one of the most important allies of the United States in the fight against Islamic State.

It is a principal backer of opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in that country’s civil war, and host to 2 million Syrian refugees.

Celebratory gunfire erupted in Syria’s capital Damascus as word got out that Erdogan had been toppled, and people took the streets to celebrate there and in the government-held section of the divided city of Aleppo.

Turkey has been at war with Kurdish separatists, and has suffered numerous bombing and shooting attacks this year, including an attack two weeks ago by extremists at Istanbul’s main airport that killed more than 40 people.

A senior EU source monitoring the situation said: “It looks like a relatively well orchestrated coup by a significant body of the military, not just a few colonels. They’ve got control of the airports and are expecting control over the TV station imminently. They control several strategic points in Istanbul.

"Given the scale of the operation, it is difficult to imagine they will stop short of prevailing. It’s not just a few colonels,” the source repeated.

One European diplomat was dining with the Turkish ambassador to a European capital when guests were interrupted by the pinging of urgent news on their mobile phones.

“This is clearly not some tinpot little coup. The Turkish ambassador was clearly shocked and is taking it very seriously,” the diplomat told Reuters as the dinner party broke up. “However it looks in the morning, this will have massive implications for Turkey. This has not come out of nowhere.”

HISTORY OF COUPS

After serving as prime minister from 2003, Erdogan was elected president in 2014 with plans to alter the constitution to give the previously ceremonial presidency far greater executive powers.

His AK Party, with roots in Islamism, has long had a strained relationship with the military and nationalists in a state that was founded on secularist principles after World War One, and which has a history of military coups.

AFP correspondents said that Istanbul had been turned into a ghost town after the events, with people who had been outside for a Friday night rushing home for safety.

But some on the streets were hailing news of the coup.

“Now things are changing - Turks are on fire,” Fethi Karabas, a 27-year-old tour guide in Taksim Square, told AFP. “We have hope now,” he added. “Turkey has been in a very polarised state for almost 15 years now … This is the manifestation of all that anger.”

Rojhat Dogru, a Turkish Kurd on holiday in Istanbul, added: “I am very happy. Erdogan is a murderer but now he is dead.”

Reactions were swiftly pouring in from around the world, with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov calling on Turkey to avoid all “bloodshed”.

“Problems in Turkey need to be resolved in accordance with the constitution,” Lavrov said, speaking in Moscow at a joint press conference with US Secretary of State John Kerry.

The US diplomat said he hoped for “peace and continuity” in Turkey, while a Greek government source said Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had been “briefed by the head of secret services” about the developments.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon appealed for calm in Turkey as the world body sought to clarify the situation in the country, said a UN spokesman.

Disaat UMNO diharamkan pada April 1987

(Malaysia Today) ANINA AND DR M’S SHAMELESS TWISTING OF THE 1987 EVENTS

LSS

This is why I think Anina Saadudin is one of the least brightest PakaTun and that she has little clue of what is happening politically.

Today she wrote that Najib is Mahafiraun, completely missing the point that the “Maha” was commonly used as a play on the Mahathir name — Maha meaning biggest (hence Mahaguru; or even Mahafiraun, Mahazalim, etc.).

And worse! She proudly claimed that Mahathir, while Umno president, had “allowed himself to be challenged through internal party elections” referring to Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah’s challenge in 1987.

The truth is this. In the 1987 UMNO elections, Kuli and gang challenged Mahathir for the president post and lost by a very narrow 46 votes.

Thus a bunch of UMNO people collectively known as the “UMNO 11” challenged the results and said there was phantom branches and voters.

The UMNO 11 people were able to prove that these branches and delegates were illegal and wanted to declare the results invalid and to call for fresh elections.

But instead of challenging, Mahathir’s lawyers used the kamikaze defence to tell the judge that if there was indeed phantom branches then the entire UMNO should be ruled as an illegal party and must be deregistered — which is exactly what the Judge ruled.

The UMNO 11 and their lawyers were utterly shocked and said in court that this was a “kamikaze defence” — which was what was reported in the local newspapers then.

And when the UMNO 11 tried to appeal that judge ruling to declare UMNO illegal, Mahathir then engineered the sacking of the Supreme Court lord president and all the other judges — hence forever destroying the independence of our judiciary on the excuse that the late Agong then was unhappy that the Lord President complained that the Agong’s palace was noisy (I kid you not!).

It was Mahathir that wanted UMNO to be deregistered as they could not fight the “phantom branches” claim and afraid of fresh elections knowing they will lose. The UMNO 11 never wanted UMNO to be deregistered and only wanted fresh elections.

After this, Mahathir happily allowed the UMNO to be deregistered, very quickly registered a new party (ROS was under the Home Ministry and he was Home Minister), made himself member number 001, disallowed the Ku Lu to join and happily continued as PM.

Eventually, Mahathir would call UMNO party as “my party” – as what Barry Wain wrote in his book (see picture below).

In fact, this devious incident engineered by Mahathir himself was used by him in his recent interview with Al-Jazeera to proudly and very shamelessly claim that the courts have also ruled against him before

And in his UMNO Baru, to prevent anyone else from being able to challenge him, he implemented insane rules of “bonus votes” and quota system (and even “no contest for number one and two”) that made it impossible for anyone to get enough nominations to challenge him as party president — hence he was never challenged again.

Such shameless people this Anina and Mahathir are trying to manipulate the 1987 episode of shame to their advantage.

Mangkaq! Pandu kereta di lorong motosikal Jambatan Kedua Pulau Pinang sejauh 20km!

MPV driver clocks up 20km on bridge’s motorcycle lane

GEORGE TOWN: The driver of a Honda Stream drove more than 20km from Batu Maung on the island to Batu Kawan on the mainland using the dedicated motorcycle lane on the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah Bridge.

This is believed to be the second incident in less than a year.

Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd corporate communications manager Azizi Azizan said the incident happened at about 7.20pm on Saturday.

“The driver drove all the way from Batu Maung to the interchange exit, before the Bandar Cassia toll plaza.

“The mainland-bound motorcycle lane is wide enough for cars because it also functions as an emergency lane,” he said yesterday.

Azizi was not sure if the driver had mistakenly entered the motorcycle lane.

A photo of the car appeared on the Penang Kini Facebook page, drawing comments from hundreds of people.

“We have signboards informing road users of the motorcycle lane,” he said.

He said cars would not be able to enter the island-bound motorcycle lane because of the toll plaza.

Azizi added that the first incident happened at the end of last year.

“In the first incident, the driver of a car drove on the motorcycle lane for about one kilometre before reversing his car to the right lane,” he said.

Azizi would bring the matter up to the management today to discuss a solution.

He advised road users to be alert by observing signboards and to use the correct lane.

Penang traffic police chief Deputy Supt Tan Boon Hooi said he would check on the matter.

SMARTPHONE : Kemudahan atau kemudaratan?

Suka aku nak petik berita tentang KPWKM anjur kempen ‘No Mobile During Dinner'

Kalau ghalit main telefon ketika bersua muka, maka timbul perasaan tak suka

Kalau ghalit main telefon ketika bersama keluarga, apa maknanya bila bersama?

Tanam sikap jauhkan telefon ketika bersama

Great respect come from proper listening and give attention to people. Kalau tak dengar, tak ambil peduli bermakna tak hormat.

Blog Luthfi. My secara rasmi ke platform Tumblr!

image

Aku suka sebab ia memudahkan perkongsian tanpa perlu membuka Blogger.com.

6 Tahun blog Luthfi.MY

Sat saja masa berlalu, dah 6 tahun aku beli domain Luthfi.My. Haha

Terima kasih kepada Asiahost kerana terus menerus menawarkan perkhidmatan cemerlang untuk domain .my. Semoga terus maju jaya!

Merenung masa depan Proton setelah 33 tahun

BERIKUT KENYATAAN PENUH DATUK SERI MUSTAPHA MOHAMED:

The current state of Proton
The decision made by the Government to go into heavy industries, including the automotive sector, in the mid-1980s was a bold and courageous one. However, the Government cannot continuously protect these industries.

Other countries such as Japan and South Korea have protected their automotive industry, but these measures were short and medium term in nature and were eventually abolished.

Proton, which is our national car project, needs to graduate from this protection.

Since I became the MITI Minister in 2009, I have been briefed by the Senior Management of Proton of the issues and challenges faced by the company on a regular basis. I have met with both the previous and current management teams and shareholders of the Company.

In 2009, the Company presented to me its restructuring plan which aimed to improve the quality of its cars, to boost exports and to make Malaysia a hub for the automotive industry in the region.

In 2012, following the takeover of Proton by DRB Hicom, the new owners came to see me and they presented another restructuring plan to make Proton more competitive. They also highlighted a number of ambitious plans to boost exports.

The National Automotive Policy in 2009 clearly stated the need for Proton to team up with strategic foreign partners. In this extremely competitive line of business, there is a need to set aside high capital resources for Research & Development (R&D). Scale is also crucial. Proton currently has neither of them.

The problems faced by Proton are very challenging. The company's share of the domestic automotive market hit a peak of 74% in 1993, but currently hovers at 15%.

Since its establishment in 1983, the Government has provided grants, various forms of assistance as well as taxes forgone to Proton to the tune of about RM13.9 billion in total. There has been intense discussion between MITI and the Senior Management of Proton on the future of this company in the past six months. Proton's Management has also made a number of presentations to the Economic Council chaired by YAB Prime Minister.

Our observations on the current state of Proton are as follows:

The company is a relatively small player in the global context and thus not able to compete with other foreign companies unless it can substantially increase its exports

Proton is suffering a problem of underutilization – about 35% of the available capacity in each of its two production plants is being utilised. The decision to have two plants is probably one of the mistakes made in the past by Proton.

About three years ago, Proton almost struck a deal with a renowned foreign player but at the last minute decided not to proceed with the proposal. Had this collaboration been realized, we may have seen an improved performance by Proton in the subsequent years.

Malaysia currently has two national car projects namely Proton and Perodua. The latter turns out to be a more sustainable model. Perodua Manufacturing, which is 49% owned by Malaysian shareholders including PNB, has a joint-venture with Daihatsu and Toyota, and is a profitable company.

Last year, a number of Proton vendors came to see me on a few occasions and shared their problems. Following that, MITI injected RM100 million to provide soft loans to alleviate their burden. Even then, it has come to my attention that some of the vendors may face serious challenges if Proton continues to operate at the current level of production and sales. A few of them might be out of business in the next three to four months.

In view of the very serious nature of the problem, the Government believes that the current business model adopted by Proton is not sustainable. The Government has been seriously deliberating Proton’s request for assistance for grants and soft loans. It is a major request and the Government needs to be thorough with its evaluation as a lot of public money is involved. We need to be particularly prudent in allocation of resources at this time when our national revenues have been seriously impacted by falling oil and commodity prices.

Having said that, I would like to assure Proton employees, vendors and the Proton ecosystem that their interests will be taken into consideration before we make any decision on its request for assistance.

If the Government decides to assist Proton, this would be made subject to several conditions including:

i. Proton needs to immediately identify a strategic foreign partner

ii. The Company must be professionally managed

iii. There must not be any interference in its business

iv. Some tough but necessary measures must be put in place for the long-term sustainability of Proton

I have been informed that there were instances when Proton appeared to be unprofessional in its decision-making process. In order for the Government to consider providing financial assistance to Proton, it is important that a competent leadership team be appointed in the company.

We note the decision made by Tun Mahathir to relinquish his position as the Chairman of Proton. While we recognise the contributions made by Tun Mahathir throughout his Chairmanship of Proton, we must not turn a blind eye to challenges faced by Proton and its inability to establish a solid financial footing.

In this regard, we hope that the new Chairman and Senior Management of Proton will help towards enhancing the true potential of Proton and pave the way towards a better future for the company.

The Government remains committed to ensure the continuous growth and development of the domestic automotive industry which would include the transformation of Proton and its ecosystem.

Review balik perlaksanaan GST, apa kata Luthfi?

Salah siapa?

Dimana penguatkuasaan?

Gempar! Kecoh dilaman sosial gaduh pasal hantaran perkahwinan!

Aku nak refer ke muka depan laman KOSMO bertarikh semalam, 28 Mac 2016.

Kesian kat keluarga kedua dua belah pihak, kesian sebab tak mampu nak jaga emosi dan kesan dari tak sabar, jadi la semua ni. Kan baik duduk berbincang.Islam kan agama yang mudah.
Posted by Luthfi.MY on Sunday, March 27, 2016
Malu!

Mohon dijauhkan.

Untuk renungan, mai tengok sepotong aksi filem Bujang Lapok :

Ten Signs Your Boss Hates You

Ten Signs Your Boss Hates You

1. Your job description, once well-established and well-understood by everyone in your department, is now in flux. Your boss gives you assignments and takes them away for no reason, to keep you off-balance.

2. Your projects and initiatives, once high priorities for  your boss as well, now languish because you can’t get your boss to return your email messages or answer your questions.

3. Access to your manager that you took for granted before is now limited or unavailable completely. Where you were your manager’s confidante before, now you can’t even get on his or her calendar.

4. Your co-workers ask you “What happened between you and the boss? You were a trusted adviser to our manager and now you’re on the outs — what’s the story?”

5. Perks of the job that were in place for months or years — first-class or business-class travel, for instance, or a budget for professional development and conferences — disappear without explanation.

6. Your boss makes changes that affect your work and doesn’t tell you about them, so you have to learn about them through the grapevine. Your boss is sending you a signal, and the signal is “You’ve messed with the wrong person!”

7. Your boss puts you down — via email, face-to-face and maybe even in front of other people.

8. Your boss second-guesses you at every opportunity, especially when other people are involved — to embarrass and demoralize you.

9. You don’t have a good answer to the question “What will I be working on in my job six months from now?”

10. Your boss shuts you out of important conversations and decision processes, to make sure you know you are not in his or her inner circle.

When you realize that you’re on the outs with your boss, can anything be done? The first question for you to ask is “What does your current job have to give you that you haven’t gotten already?” If there is something very special and valuable for you to learn or accumulate at your job before you move on, then you may opt to stick it out and get the good stuff, putting up with your manager’s slights and insults as best you can.

You can speak up and ask your manager “Is there something awry in our relationship that we need to talk about?” but if your boss were able to verbalize his or her feelings, s/he would have done that already.

Your best bet is to start a stealth job search and move to a healthier place with a grown-up boss who can talk about things on his or her mind instead of acting out like an eight-year-old.

There is a bright side to getting the cold shoulder from your boss, however; once you’ve had the experience, you’ll spot the warning signs more easily the next time. Take the learning and go — because only the people who get you, deserve you!

At What Age Should You Be Cautious That Your Marriage Might End Up In A Divorce? Find Out

A marriage is a beautiful journey, and all healthy marriages experience change and transition, some predictable, others not.
Experts meanwhile agree that there are five important stages in a marriage:
i) Romance or Honeymoon Stage (the first few months to a year) when things are so perfect
ii) Reality Stage (usually first two years of marriage after getting familiar with your spouse) which is said to have the highest risk of affairs and divorce
iii) Childrearing Sub-Stage where a 'new reality' unfolds for marriages and stress levels may increase
iv) Accommodation Stage where couples allow themselves to renew their relationship
v) Transformation or Success Stage (signifies real love) where both finally enjoy the benefits of a marriage and provide mutual support for one another. However, it is estimated that fewer than 5 per cent of couples actually make it to this stage, according to The Relationship Institute.
And while some come out of these predictable stages and weather the storms of marriage, others come to recognise that divorce, which was previously not thought of, looms as a real possibility. The once passion-fueled period that's all about the two of you has turned into you starting to question your marriage, and it is not just a bad hiccup this time. It’s one where the decision of divorce is finally made.
According to the Fifth Malaysia Population and Family Survey (KPKM-5) conducted between September 2014 to January 2015, the Women, Family and Community Development Minister, Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim relayed their study showed, out of 23,112 households in the country, 60.7 per cent of those aged 15 years and above are married, while only 1.9 per cent are divorced and separated.
“Five years is considered the most critical years of marriage and this is when each couple should pay more attention to their relationship,” the minister said.
Meanwhile, a 2010 report by the Women’s Development Research Centre (KANITA) and University Science Malaysia (USM) funded by UNICEF, states on an average, Malays, Chinese and Indians got married in the 20-24 age group.
The question however is, with so many Malaysians getting married below their 30s and with divorce cases increasing, at what age do most Malaysians get divorced then?
Demographic statistics from United Nations Statistics Division in year 2009, showed Malaysians aged 30-34, 35-39 and 40-44 were the age group with the highest divorce rates, at 11,705, 14,140 and 14,123 number of divorce cases respectively.
This brings to light what Belinda Hewitt, sociologist at the University of Queensland told the Sydney Morning Herald earlier, “Basically, if you marry under the age of 25, you have about a four times increased risk of divorce.”
While University of Utah sociologist Nicholas Wolfinger, who analysed data from the National Survey of Family Growth from 2006 to 2010 said, “Past the age of 32 or so, the odds of divorce increase by 5 per cent per year of age at marriage.”
And Becky Spelman, a relationship counsellor with the Private Therapy Clinic in London said to The Telegraph: “The saying goes that if a marriage gets through the 'frustrated forties’ then it will survive forever, and I would agree with this.”
Could all this notion about age playing a role in a divorce be true? Malaysian Digest finds out.
A Syariah Lawyer Gives Advice
If a marriage is heading into the direction of divorce, for Muslims, a syariah lawyer advises the man to file a divorce, under Section 47.
“What you need to do is go to the counter and say you want to file a mutual divorce. Fill up a form and after that a biodata form.
“They’ll give you a date and you have to face the judge. You mention the ‘talaq (the right given to a Muslim man to divorce his wife by mere unequivocal statement)’ in front of them.
“There’s no counselling session either. If your wife refuses, the power of the divorce is on the men, he can divorce her anyways,” he explained to us.
He continues to share how nowadays youngsters divorce easily as they marry young and may not be ready mentally and physically. He also stated a second common reason cited for divorce is financial problems, and the third being their parents’ interference.
Seeing as the common age of divorce is the 30s, we asked his advice if it was better for individuals to marry past that age.
The syariah lawyer however asserts, “Age is not a factor to get married. Don’t get yourself married over the age of 30 in the belief that you will be more financially stable.
“I married at the age of 23, and I have to be very frank with you, you have to let go of a lot of things. Sometimes, even if you’re faced with financial problems, you have to be patient.
“And there are other things you must learn to compromise. For example, women are always emotional, that is their ‘fitrah (primordial human nature)’, that’s what makes them women and men must understand this.”
He added, “Individuals don’t have to wait until they’re 30 or 35 to get married. It’s better to get married than to commit sins.
"If the time has come and you feel that you are mentally, physically and financially ready to get married, then go for it.
“There are people who get a divorce at age 50, 55, and 70. We will never know what fate has in store for us, and it’s ultimately in God’s hands."
“It’s very simple, if you feel you can continue with the marriage, go ahead. You must try to save the marriage. However, if after several attempts has been made to no fruition, then perhaps, getting a divorce might be your solution,” he explained.
A Divorce Lawyer For Non-Muslims Speaks Up
Sarah is a divorce lawyer for mostly uncontested divorces, as it's easier, she claims.
“When both parties agree and when you are registered for more than two years, there’s no problem in filing for divorce.
“However, if one party disagrees, then they might have to stay apart for two years. Things might be further complicated if one of them converts or if they have kids,” she said citing the recent case on Federal Court's decision in dividing the custody of kids between clerk S. Deepa and her Muslim convert ex-husband Izwan Abdullah.
Nevertheless, Sarah reveals these days, Chinese and Indians are getting married later than the average age, but getting divorced at a younger age.
“The average age for non-Muslims to get married now I’d say is 25 onwards. But divorces, I’ve had cases as young as 18 and as old as over 60,” she detailed.
Based on the cases she has encountered, she shared: “Most people in their 20s are getting divorced, especially Chinese couples.
“They have this bad habit of registering but not going for the Chinese ceremony two or three years later on the pretext of saving money.
“So, they get registered first as it's the in-thing to do and when they finally realise they cannot be together, they file for a divorce.”
While the age of divorce is getting younger, Sarah also affirms that a common age of divorce occurs in the 30s as couples have been working a few years and find they are no longer compatible.
Occasionally, there are a few divorce cases amongst those who are 50 years old and above. Sarah recalls a time when one 55-year-old woman actually said: “I don’t want to die as his wife!”, and continued citing common reasons a divorce occurs.
“Most people who come to me are without children because they say that’s when the trouble starts. I also find those with children come from the lower income group and the reason they get divorced is because the men are not bothered with their responsibilities.
“Usually, it’s the men that has decided to give up on everything, or sometimes because he is in debt, and probably entangled with some loan shark. That's when couples decide they should get out before things get worse.
“Other reasons for divorce include third party involvement, and interfering in-laws,” which echoes what the syariah lawyer previously mentioned.
“There’s no more compromise. Most just want to go their own way but don’t realise they cannot have their way all the time.
“People are not committed anymore. Nobody wants to fix anything, they just want a fast solution. But that’s only my personal opinion,” the expert concluded.
30-Year-Old’s Talk About Their Divorce
Christina got married when she was 28 and divorced when she was 33. It's been two years since her divorce, and she recounts the painful memories.
“We fought a lot that time, and it came to a point where we both just couldn’t take it anymore. We both wanted different things, I wanted children and he didn’t care about what I wanted.
“Also, I have a condition where I am almost sterile, my chances of getting pregnant are really low because of this.
“I wanted to have children and do whatever it takes, including IVF - but he didn’t want to be committed.
“He had kids from his previous marriage, he has a nice job and drives a Mercedes-Benz. Meanwhile, I have things I want to achieve as well and I felt like he wasn’t there to support me, be it about me having babies or with my work,” lamented the now single woman.
For Rashid, who dated his ex-wife four years before getting married, he cited ‘incompatibility’ as the main cause of his divorce that happened just over a year after his solemnization.
“I do believe that one should get married at the age of 30 or above because they would already know what they want in life and are able to chart their life’s path,” the 34-year-old shared his sentiments about marriage.
But speaking from his personal experience, going through a divorce himself in his 30s, he tells us that it is nothing new and seems to be quite common amongst his peers.
“I have friends around my age who went through what I did. I think most people nowadays divorce at the age of 30-35 because of work pressure, monetary constraints and less time spent with each other.
“Even though my marriage lasted only one year and two months to be precise, I do hope to remarry one day, preferably before the age of 40,” he shared.
When asked if there was one thing that he would have done differently to salvage his marriage, he conveyed: “Know your partner and share your past. Partners don’t like surprises especially on things that they are really concerned on.
“In a nutshell, a marriage is about compromise. It need not only be applicable to one party, it works both ways. The pillar of success would depend on trust, support and compromise.”
Age Is Not Really A Factor
While the factors of divorce may vary as the lawyers and divorcees have laid out, safe to say, age is not a huge contributing factor - but it's mostly the person that you are and the relationship that you have, at that certain time.
And for the singles out there, Professor Wolfinger’s advice is, “Don’t get married too young and don’t get married too old.”
Every married couple is at equal risk of a divorce, and the fear divorce is actually giving way to healthier marriages overall, as anthropologist and human behaviour expert at Indiana University Helen Fisher who’s spent decades studying different aspects of love puts it.
There’s no harm to be on your cautious side. After all, it is a good wake-up call to never take your marriage for granted and realise that you need to put in extra effort to keep your marriage vibrant and vital regardless of age.
